COVID and beyond: the impact of the changing policy landscape on homeless young people
A Talk by Jennifer Barnes and Paul Brocklehurst
About this Talk
In this workshop, delegates will hear about the biggest policy changes affecting homeless young people, including changes to eviction and benefit rules, programmes such as Kickstart to support young people into work, and DfE proposals for new minimum standards for supported accommodation for looked after children and care leavers.
The session will draw on insight from Centrepoint research, as well as what we are hearing from young people on the ground through our Helpline. We will update you on Centrepoint’s future campaigning work, and invite you to discuss the impact of recent government initiatives, what more can be done and also how we can work together to push for positive change.
Please note: This is a workshop session and therefore attendee audio and video will be available. We ask you to mute yourselves during the main presentation, and unmute for the breakout group periods within the session where you can share your thoughts and experience with other attendees.
