Healthy Relationships Advisor, Centrepoint

About this speaker

Marianne started working with young people as an Education and Wellbeing Specialist for Brook, the UK’s leading sexual health and wellbeing charity for young people. Following this, Marianne gained a Masters in Gender Studies and Law from SOAS University, with a particular focus on sexual and reproductive rights and gender across the global regions, and young people’s experiences of ‘sexting’ in the UK.

Marianne has been the Healthy Relationships Advisor for Centrepoint in London for over 2 years. Marianne runs events and groups across the London boroughs to raise awareness of domestic abuse and sexual violence amongst Centrepoint young people. Marianne delivers 1:1 support to help young people who are most at risk to identify abuse, understand their rights and increase their safety in relationships. The purpose of the programme is to help young people build healthy and supportive networks, prevent relationships from escalating into abuse and remove the barriers that young homeless people typically face in accessing external services.
