Laura Hillier is part of the Nightstop UK team at Depaul UK, as a Nightstop Network Officer. Nightstop UK oversees the network of Nightstop services around the country, which provide emergency accommodation to young people facing homelessness in the spare rooms of vetted and trained volunteer hosts. Laura’s role at Nightstop UK involves providing support to Nightstops to deliver a high quality service, by the provision of information, advice, training and resources. Laura first joined Depaul UK in July 2019 to work on a project to develop a new quality assessment framework for Supported Lodgings services.
Laura’s professional background includes mental health research, developing educational resources for teaching health and social care, and as a support worker with a range of client groups. She also has a strong interest in women’s rights, and is currently the secretary of a community women’s organisation in Dorset.
